Blend: 40% Poulsard, 30% Trousseau, 30% Pinot Noir

The family-run Rolet Estate is, at 58 hectares (145 acres) the second-largest wine growing estate in the Jura region, and one of the finest domaines in this region of eastern France located just north of Switzerland. Rolet is an estate full of character, with soils originating in the Jurassic and Triassic periods, where grape varieties blossom contentedly.

These include Chardonnay, the base for the Jura’s white wines; Savagnin, the grape variety used to create the Jura’s unique, flagship wine: Vin Jaune; the renowned Poulsard; and the internationally-famous Pinot Noir. The Rolet Family is able to call on its long viticultural experience while making sure not to ignore new techniques that work. The Rolet Family originated many of the Jura’s red varietals, as well as white wines of great typicity.

The large palette of offerings in the Rolet portfolio demonstrates the richness of the land that encompasses the Arbois and Cotes du Jura appellations: white, rose and red wines, Vin Jaune, Vin de Paille, Marc (distilled grape liqueur), Macvin (a fortified Vin Doux Naturel) and Cremant (Jura traditional-method sparkling wine). The wine critics have taken note of Domaine Rolet, whose wines will satisfy the keenest of connoisseurs.

From the beginning, quality farming has been the focus; today the domaine is undergoing a complete conversion to organic farming, which in their steep-sloped vineyards can be quite difficult indeed. No herbicides or pesticides are ever used and the soils are constantly ploughed – creating beautiful, healthy vineyards. The commitment to quality viticulture extends into the cellar where they produce balanced, mineral-driven wines that can only come from the Jura.
