This wine is improving markedly over time. A clear argument for decanting older wines. This one is not fragile it just becomes bigger over time …Give this one some air ! I stand impressed just how much this wine has transformed and opened up over the past 90min. It is becoming a monster and that isn't the wine talking. Nose; cigar box cedar, mushroom with caramel popcorn elements. Taste; Sweet fruit turns to sour dark fruit with firm tomato acidity and juiciness. Cedar drying finish with a lingering strawberry longevity. Over time becoming much bigger with a round meatiness. This is a wine to decant to enjoy to respect. I have had so much luck with my older Australian wines ,of which i did not expect to age nearly as well as they have ,compared to a few of their French and Italian counterparts ... in some cases costing much more. So so happy drinking this wine. Amazingly complex flavours. Good on ya! (2/9/2018)
