Domaine de Ferrand, Chateauneuf du Pape 1999
1.0cm; pristine
90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 1999 Chateauneuf du Pape offers up aromas of iodine, sweet candied licorice, pepper, seaweed, black cherry and plum fruit, and spice box. This singular, distinctive, full-bodied Chateauneuf possesses a firm, moderately tannic finish, yet is accessible with outstanding depth, ripeness, and succulence. It should drink well over the next 14-15 years. (RP)(12/2001)

Tonight this bottle was spectacular. Purchased from a perfect cellar that has had it since release. Cork looked brand new. Wine blossomed with air, dried fruit, herbs, leather, meat, spice. A hint of tannin that lasted the 5 hours it took to drink. Great freshness. Awesome stuff. Wine is fantastic. Storage is the main variable. As it usually is. (11/26/2020)
