93 points Allen Meadows, Burghound

The relatively deeply pitched and quite ripe blue and violet-suffused nose flashes additional breadth in the form of discreet earth and game hints. There is excellent volume and mid-palate density to the naturally sweet, rich and sappy flavors that are wrapped around a still moderately firm tannic spine while the lingering finish tighens up considerably. As is often the case this is a relatively refined Nuits and while it's still on the way up it is not so structured or austere that it could not be enjoyed now provided that it was given 30 to 45 minutes of air first. 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

One of the finest renditions of this cuvée remains the 2005 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale, a deep, elegantly fleshy, medium to full-bodied wine evocative of cherries, dark berries, espresso roast, raw cocoa and rich soil tones. Structured around ripe tannins and lively acids, it is already drinking superbly. (WK) (4/2021)

93 points Vinous

Still quite fresh and vibrant, the 2005 Clos de la Maréchale offers all of the luxurious radiance and intensity that makes wines from this year so appealing. Soaring floral and spiced aromatics lift the dark red and purplish fruit nicely, while beams of supporting tannin remind us we are in Nuits Saint-Georges. (AG) (1/2019)
