Pierre-Yves Colin is the eldest son of the famed Marc Colin. After working as the winemaker at his father’s domaine from 1994 to 2005, he established his own domaine from family vineyards he inherited from his family. Since that time, he has rapidly become a star in the Cote de Beaune and is now considered one of Burgundy’s top producers. His choice to use larger demi-muid barrels and eschew the use of battonnage, makes each one of his bottlings a clear expression of its terroir and a study in mineral-driven Chardonnay. As scary as it may seem, with each new vintage his wines seem to get better and better. This is not only one of the top domaines in Chassagne, this is one of the great winemakers and domaines in the world.

92 points Wine Spectator

A toasty quality on the nose gives way to lemon verbena, green apple and chalky, mineral flavors. Lean and taut, yet supple, this lingers, with a mouthwatering finish. (BS) (8/2018)

An all but invisible trace of wood can be found on the pretty nose that mixes notes of pear, apple, floral and citrus peel. There is more volume and richness to the round and delicious flavors that possess both a lovely texture and plenty of punch on the saline and softly stony finish. This is an excellent villages and worth your interest. *Outstanding, Top Value* 6/2018)

Jancis Robinson

Quiet, stony, citrus nose. Some herbs. Very very tight and crisp, super-precise and elbows all tucked in. Opens up to a pretty hint of blossom. (JH)  (11/2017)

Wine Advocate

The 2016 Saint-Aubin Le Banc is another pretty wine from Pierre-Yves Colin, exhibiting expressive aromas of white flowers, tangerine oil and crisp apple. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, pure and glossy, with attractive detail and delineation. Structurally delicate and open-knit, this is a wine to broach while the 2015 is maturing in the cellar. (WK)(6/2018)

Palish, green-tinged yellow. Aromas of pear, minerals and wild herbs reminded me a bit of Benedictine. On the lean side but boasts lovely juicy cut to its lemon and lime flavors. No shortage of acidity here. (ST)  (9/2018)
