Chevillon-Chezeaux, Nuits St. Georges, Les St. Georges 1er Cru 2018
Description
Darren Harris
Aromatic. Cherry, raspberry, refined spices - vanilla, mace, all spice. Dark chocolate. The palate is silky, deep, but light on its feet for the level of intensity. There’s some juiciness to the fruit and a fine acid spice. What impresses and always differentiates Les St-Georges from Les Vaucrains alongside is the refinement of the tannins here. They are fine, long and caressing in Les St-Georges where Les Vaucrains' are more assertive, even rustic at times. This is a very stylish wine - no wonder it is a candidate for Grand Cru status.
