Fourrier, Gevrey Chambertin, Vieilles Vignes 2013
Description
93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, the oldest vines planted back in 1929, has a crisp, slightly leafy bouquet with a light marine influence developing in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannins, crisp acidity and plenty of dark berry fruit toward the piquant finish. Don't overlook this offering from Jean-Marie Fourrier, because it ranks easily alongside his Premier Crus. (NM) (12/2014)

There is a hint of reduction that is enough to push the fruit to the background though the earth and sauvage elements are still discernible. There is excellent richness to the full-bodied and sleekly powerful flavors that possess a firm core of ripe tannins that shape the lightly mineral-inflected finish. This is very Gevrey in character yet it's not especially rustic or austere. Excellent quality here and this is very much worth your attention. *Outstanding Top value* (1/2015)
