Ramey, Napa Valley, Annum, Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
Description
92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The deep ruby colored 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum (75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc) opens with dried tobacco, blackcurrant bud, pencil lead and cigar box notions with dried leaves, old leather, cured meats, cedar and dried herbs with a bright core of red and black fruits. It's medium to full-bodied with herb-laced fruits and a mineral streak, framed by lightly chalky tannins and juicy freshness and finishing long. This is a unique, very Bordeaux-esque expression of the Annum Cabernet in this cooler vintage. (EB) (9/2019)
92 points Vinous
The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum is quite soft and accessible in this vintage, with less of its trademark richness, but impeccable overall balance. Sweet herbs, dark red cherries, mint and licorice meld together in the glass. In 2011, the Annum includes 25% Cabernet Franc, which gives the wine lovely aromatics. The 2011 finishes with terrific juiciness and resonance. This is a great showing, especially within the context of an extremely challenging vintage. (AG) (2/2014)
