Robert Chevillon, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les Vaucrains 2013
Description
Scuffed, torn, lightly wrinkled label
94 points John Gilman
Like the Pruliers, the 2013 Vaucrains chez Chevillon is very, very elegant out of the blocks this year, without sacrificing any of the depth and intensity that makes this one of Nuits St. George’s greatest premier crus. The outstanding nose offers up a blend of plums, black cherries, raw cocoa, nutskins, fresh herbs, a very complex base of soil tones, pigeon and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and tightly-knit, with a rock solid core of fruit, excellent transparency, ripe, firm tannins and a very long, vibrant and perfectly balanced finish. All this great, great wine needs is time. John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2014, Issue #54
