San Giusto a Rentennano, Percarlo Tuscana IGT 2009
95 points Wine Advocate
A pure expression of Sangiovese, the delicious 2009 Percarlo shows warm tones of leather, pipe tobacco, wet earth, dried cherry and red rose petal. Aged 22 months in French oak, there’s enormous heft and determination at the back that does a great job holding up and matching the stunning intensity of the bouquet. Tight tannins, fresh acidity and a touch of sweet cherry characterize the mouthfeel. It’s impeccably balanced with ample length, but give it five to ten more years to evolve. (ML) (8/2013)

Good bright, full red. Knockout musky nose offers scents of raspberry, ripe red cherry, minerals, tobacco, smoke and underbrush; this is an absolute magnet for Sangiovese lovers. Then spicy, classically dry and distinctly lush in style, boasting superb clarity and lift to the rich, ripe raspberry, red cherry and truffle flavors. Finishes with outstanding subtle, palate-staining length and uncommon precision. (ID)(9/2014)
