The NV Extra Brut Les Béguines LC 19 showed brilliantly once again, bursting with aromas of orange rind, orchard fruit, red berries and peach, mingled with notions of walnuts and marzipan, as well as telltale hints of warm spices and fenugreek. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's deep and complete, with huge reserves of fruit and structure, enlivened by a pillowy mousse. Concluding with a long, sapid finish, I continue to think this is one of Prévost's finest releases of the decade. In style, it's reminiscent of a somewhat riper version of the 2012. (WK) 9/2021)

This bottle of La Closerie 'les Beguines' from Jérôme Prévost is from the base year of 2012. The wine is drinking beautifully today, offering up a deep and complex bouquet of white peach, brioche, a hint of lavender, a superb base of soil tones, just a hint of vanillin oak and a potpourri of gentle meunier floral scents in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and complex, with crisp acids, a beautiful core of fruit, impeccable balance, outstanding mousse and a long, soil-driven and complex finish. Just a beautiful bottle of wine that is just hitting its stride and still has decades of life ahead of it. (Drink between 2021-2050)(10/2021)
