  • Plan limited to 48 bottles or volume equivalent per client.
  • Plan applies to purchases from ChapFour.com only
  • Insurance coverage for loss, damage, breakage, or acts of God are not provided under this plan. 
  • Purchase of this plan constitutes a waiver of all present and future claims of loss, damage, breakage, or acts of God.
  • Inquire if you need storage of more than 48 bottles.

$75 FEE BREAKDOWN:

  • REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT - $50
  • NON-REFUNDABLE FEE - $25
  • Purchase is for 1 time transport to storage facility and back to Chapter 4
  • Shipments must include all wines under one shipment
  • Storage exceeding 3 month plan will accrue a $15 fee (12 bottle case) fee per week until released for shipment. Deposit may be used to satisfy any amounts due.
  • Remaining deposit balance is issued 7 business days from completion of shipment order release.

Purchaser required to contact Team@ChapFour.com to arrange for shipment. Wine orders exceeding storage term may be declared abandoned after 45 days.

Shipping Services Available

Buyers are responsible for placing order in a timely manner to accommodate their desired delivery window. Supplemental shipping insurance recommended for all orders over $100.

Pre-Paid Shipping Rates: are good for 7 days. Additional fees may apply if orders do not ship within 7 days of purchase.

UPS Rate Calculator: quotes are ESTIMATES ONLY. Certain bottle format configurations may require supplemental fees in part due to packing requirements. We will advise you of any applicable fees prior to shipment.

Davidson Rule: Calculated rates are not retroactive to orders that are 7 days old or older. UPS rates are subject to change without notice and are not in ChapFour's control.

NO SHIPPING ON MAJOR HOLIDAY MONDAYS - We are closed. Shipping will resume next business day for eligible services.

Ground Service | ships Monday (East Coast) - Tuesday (MTN/Pacific) for the prior week’s order. 90% of Ground packages are delivered in 3 days (West). Standard delivery is 1-5 business days (East). Not Recommended when total order value is $350 or more.

2DAY Service | ships Monday - Wednesday.

Next Day Air | ships Monday-Thursday. [$150 min order]. Delivers before Noon. Recommended for Shipments over $350 in value.

Next Day Air Saver | ships Monday-Thursday. Guarantees delivery [11:59PM Residential/4:30pm Commercial] on the guaranteed day of delivery. Not available in all areas.

Tracking Numbers are provided by email shortly after pick up by carrier service.

Requirements: All orders placed at least 24 hours in advance of intended ship date. Prompt payment of NextDay or 2DAY invoices by 10:00am PDT prior to ship date to ensure timely processing. Orders placed under 24 hrs in advance are not guaranteed same day shipment.

Any order that is unable to ship, or is seized or destroyed due to violation or potential violation of shipping laws (and/or common carrier policy) is not refundable. All customers are solely responsible for determining the manner in which alcoholic beverages may or may not be lawfully brought into their jurisdiction.

Supplemental Shipping Insurance

Basic carrier provided coverage is $100 value per package. Additional coverage is available and invoiced separately upon request.

The maximum insurable coverage is $3000 value per package. We may advise certain orders be divided into multiple boxes to secure full insurance coverage.

Adult Signature Requirement

Adult Signature is required on all shipments.

Chapter 4 is not responsible for delivery if an adult is not able to sign for receipt of parcel(s). All shipping labels issued require adult signature regardless of their alcohol status or destination - domestic or international.

Do you offer promotional shipping rates?

From time-to-time we offer promotional Shipping Rates. Inquire for any active promotions.

In an effort to be waste conscientious, and in keeping with our local business ordinances, from time-to-time* we may "recycle" prior-use shipping containers to fulfill orders with a Promotional Shipping Rate.

International Shipping

Yes.

Chapter 4 ships international packages via UPS.

We do not ship into Customs Bond accounts.

Shipping cost includes a protective shipping box, U.S. customs forms, insurance and carrier charges to the destination. It does NOT include any taxes or duties that may be assessed by and payable to the local authorities at the destination or any additional fees charged by UPS for the administration of taxes and duties.

We do not offer shipping service to Canada or Mexico.

Common Carriers Service Providers

Our preferred service provider is UPS, both domestically and internationally.

FedEx package carrier services are available for addresses in CA and FL only. This service has a $15 premium fee included if requested by sender.

Consolidated freight shipments utilizing temperature controlled LTL (Less-Than-truckLoad) services are used for long-haul destinations.

We DO NOT Ship To...

Post Office boxes.

Neither UPS nor FedEx will deliver to the other's offices.

We cannot deliver to certain US States: Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Utah.

We reserve the right to cancel an order if we are unable to secure delivery to an address provided.

What happens if shipment is not delivered?

Buyers are responsible for placing order in a timely manner to accomodate their desired delivery window. We reserve 24-48 hours to prepare certain shipments.

Failed Delivery orders returned to a third party service provider’s facility may be subject to additional storage and/or shipping charges.

Orders at a service provider’s facility must be forwarded within 7-10 days or may be declared abandoned and destroyed by the third party service provider.

Such facilities are not considered short term storage solutions.

6 standard bottles or 12 standard bottles are the most cost efficient.

Can orders be subject to "Adverse Event" holds?

Any order is subject to adverse event holds. The following examples are not exhaustive:

IMPACTS ON TRANSIT TIME
Refunds are not offered for delayed delivery by carriers (FedEx, UPS, or other regional carriers), third-party service providers, payment processing gateways, technical stoppages provided by web platforms or employment strikes. COVID-19 and it’s variants continue to impact transit times nationwide.

WEATHER DELAYS

Perishable products may require overnight shipping to optimize your order’s safety.

We determine Adverse Weather Holds on the advisements of our service providers. Buyers are responsible to advise on local weather conditions. In such instances orders held back free up to 30 days maximum until secure and safe shipping is possible. Exceptions to this policy may be in effect at anytime without prior notification.

TRANSIT DELAYS
Transit times and delivery dates are estimates only. Carriers (ex. FedEx, UPS, LSO) are not refunding if delivery is delayed. It’s important to monitor the transit of your shipment on the carrier’s website using the tracking number from your account or in the email you receive on your ship date. Please plan on extended transit times and schedule accordingly.

COVID OR ILLNESS HOLDS
Any order is subject to a covid or illness hold in the event that Chapter 4 or third party transportation service is unable to deliver services, either temporary or long-term. The nature of such holds are unpredictable and prior notice given to our public is not required. Individuals impacted will be notified if an order is under an Adverse Event Hold.

Abandoned Orders - Non-Responsive Buyer

An order will be deemed abandoned if point of contact is unresponsive to Chapter 4 correspondence, including pick up request or unpaid shipping invoices 30 days from purchase date. Chapter 4 reserves the sole right to determine if an order has been abandoned or if a buyer remains unresponsive to correspondence. Chapter 4 reserves the right to charge up to $15.00 monthly storage for each order not shipped or picked up 30 days from date of sale.

FINAL REMEDY

We reserve the ability to recoup unpaid extended storage fees by releasing abandoned orders for sale to a new buyer. Original buyer will be managed as a consignor. Such abandoned consignments are subject to full seller's fees and storage charges before sale proceeds are paid out.

Unpaid Shipping Invoices

Unpaid supplemental shipping invoices will be honored for up to 7 days from issuance. Chapter 4 reserves the right to void any unpaid invoice after 7 days and reissue the invoice at prevailing rates, fuel surcharges, or any carrier issued fees not accounted for in the initial invoice.

Orders are held until invoice is settled. Other conditions may apply.

Can I cancel my order?

Unlike most consumer goods our alcohol license places restrictions on our services and policies. These restrictions are different from those governing restaurants and wineries.

Once an order is shipped, we are unable to alter or cancel it. Shipping alcohol requires a state issued license. Common carriers will confiscate alcohol shipments from unlicensed parties.

  • PRE-ARRIVAL offers are products that we source from either our large network of North American private collections or our partnerships with European suppliers or Domaines.
  • ESTIMATED TIME of ARRIVAL: Unless otherwise stated in the individual product page our Pre-Arrivals are estimated to land in Los Angeles within 30-50 days or so from upload date. Inquire for specific dates for the item you are interested in.
  • BOTTLE CONDITIONS: as these are pre-arrivals our final label and ullage descriptions are not yet included. If you have concerns inquire and we will do our best to get answers.
  • PRICES: published prices are commensurate with bottles in good condition for their kind and age. Most will be in "excellent" to "pristine" based on how we select wines to represent in our store.
  • Custodial chain for our Pre-Arrival wines are temperature controlled professional logistics carriers, licensed or bonded warehouses.
