One heck of an impressive Saint-Emilion, the 2005 Château Destieux stopped me in my tracks and offers a gorgeous perfume of rich currants, chocolate, smoked tobacco, and leafy, truffly, floral like nuances. It shows the more dense, concentrated style of the vintage yet it stays perfectly balanced and light on its feet, with full-bodied richness, polished tannins, and a great, great finish. I followed this bottle for multiple days, and it was even better on day two. If you get a chance, don’t miss it! 04/2024

A manly Bordeaux. Rusty nose. Palate with pruney fruit profile but with a very taut structure still in place. Stiff tannins but the acid on point. Doubt it'll improve but I feel it will hold up quite well. Still got half a case left and in no hurry to finish it. 2/14/2026
