Tensley, Santa Barbara County, Turner Vineyard, Syrah 2012
Description
The Turner Vineyard, located in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation is the coldest Syrah vineyard we work with and always the last vineyard we harvest. In 2012, a vintage with moderate temperatures, we didn’t harvest the Turner until November 15th. The extra hang time allows the Turner grapes to deepen in complexity and lends the wine a prominent pepperiness. Sleek and spicy with mouthwatering plum, blackberry and raspberry notes, the 2012 Turner also shows savory, gamey flavors and hints of leather and graphite. We recommend aging this over the next 2 to 10 years.
