Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Meursault-Perrieres 2014
Description
95 points Vinous
Bright, pale yellow. Pineapple and pungent minerals on the nose. Large-scaled, powerful and penetrating, boasting outstanding concentration and finesse to its lemon and dusty stone flavors. Finishes extremely long and bracing, with quintessential Perrières density and wet-stone minerality. This is Meursault Perrières at grand cru level--hardly the first time for this superb producer. Both this wine and the Charmes are high in acidity but have so much texture and depth that it's barely apparent. (ST) (9/2016)
90-93 points Burghound
Moderate reduction knocks down the nose and renders it difficult to evaluate. On the plus side though there is a beguiling freshness to the pure, detailed and racy medium weight flavors that also possess that lovely sense of underlying tension that makes the flavors and finish come alive in the mouth, particularly on the beautifully well-delineated finish. This well-balanced and highly persistent effort isn't quite as concentrated as the Genevrières though it's just as refined. 6/2016)
