Kistler, Sonoma Coast, Parmelee Stone Flat Vineyard, Chardonnay 2007
Description
lightly damp stained label
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Readers looking for something that tastes like pure crushed rocks liquified into a beverage should check out the nuanced 2007 Chardonnay Parmalee Hill Stone Flat Vineyard. Tropical fruits such as orange and nectarine as well as pineapple are present, but again, the liqueur of rocks dominates the wine, as there are also notes of quince and white currants. (RP) (12/2008)
95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Bright gold. High-pitched, very pure aromas of Meyer lemon, crushed stone, iodine, white pepper and honeysuckle, with late-arriving notes of quinine and tarragon. Highly concentrated wine, with superb depth and vivacity to its citrus, floral and gripping mineral flavors. This seems as much a solid as a liquid. Its endless finish is strikingly tactile and leaves intense citrus and chalk notes behind. (ST) (6/2010)
