4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Eagle Brook CC): Served double blind to the group. Deep, mature yellow color. Aromas of apple, roasted pear, nectarine, honeyed marshmallow and florals. This needed some air to really open up and begin to strut its stuff, but once it did it was very beautiful. Fully mature, still with plenty of fruit, but also those great nutty tones that come with age. 94+ pts.
I wish I'd have remembered to revisit this at the end of the evening. Not quite as good as the bottle opened last February at Claudia, but not far off, either. Still drinking very well and at peak for my palate. We have only a magnum remaining, which I might hold for a larger gathering, perhaps the holiday season at the end of this year. 2/27/2021

Butter and pineapple on the nose. Charred butter with a viognier-like (but milder) bitterness. Good stuff. 12/26/2020
