DOMAINE GROS FRERE ET SOEUR, CLOS VOUGEOT, "MUSIGNI" 1987
1.5-2.0cm
One of the most famous sections of the clos is the lieu-dit Musigni, which is located just below Musigny and above the Vougeot chateau. The 1987 vintage features the oldest vines in vineyard at that time as the 1.5Ha section would undergo extensive replanting through 1989.
The main part of Musigni is owned by the Gros family and is currently farmed by Gros Frère et Soeur. But from 2022, Domaine A.F. Gros will also have a part of this vineyard, as they will swap some vines with Gros Frère et Soeur. The Gros family became a part of Clos de Vougeot history in 1920 when they took over part of the Léonce Bocquet holdings along with 13 other Vosne-Romanée producers. A total of 22 buyers shared the Bocquet estate.
This collection has been under ChapFour management since 2004-2005 and we have helped the owner sell upwards of $3.5M of his collection over this time. Much of it the rarest and most sought after Burgundy, Barolo and California Classics ever assembled. Feel free to inquire for more details.
