The personality of the cool vintage comes through in spades in the 1981 Cabernet Sauvignon. Although texturally quite polished and impeccable in its balance, the 1981 remains a bit compact and linear in style. In any other setting, it would probably be magnificent but here, next to so many icons, the 1981 remains only outstanding. (AG) (6/2014)
