Looking forward to the other bottle in 2025! I believe this has just crested the peak and is starting a slow decent. Still very enjoyable, significant fruit alongside spice/tobacco. Holds up to food well (filet mignon and baked sharp cheddar mac n cheese).
Update: finished the bottle after 2 nights in the fridge. Added a point. Wonderful bottle, I'll aim to give it a 30 minute decant next time. 12/26/2024

Similar to previous TNs, but even more developed. Slow ox for 90 minutes. Initially thought there was an amber edge, but that dissipated after 90 minutes. Rich, ripe currants on the nose. Deep, rich black cherries, roasted plums and cassis on the palate with layered, slightly sweet fruit. Well-balanced with a long, satisfying finish with fine grained tannins. Remarkably fresh with the structure to probably last another 5-10 years. Superb!! 12/25/2023

Seavey has produced some exceptional Cabernet Sauvignons, and I predict the 1995 (950 cases) will be an unexpected winner in many blind tastings. It is performing even better this year than it did last, hence my elevated score. The color is an opaque purple. The wine displays a fantastic nose of classic black currants intermixed with cigar box and cedar scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied and backward, but persuasively rich, layered, and marvelously well-balanced. There is a deep, sweet mid-palate and explosive ripeness and richness in the long, heady finish. (13.9% alcohol) A sleeper pick in this outstanding vintage, it should evolve effortlessly for 20-30 years. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2028. (RP) 12/1998
