The 2020 Domaine François Buffet Volnay 1er Cru "Carelle Sous la Chapelle" reflects a shift toward a darker-fruited, more structured profile than the cooler 2017 vintage. Sourced from a tiny 0.44-hectare plot directly beneath the Notre-Dame Chapel in Volnay, the 2020 vintage captures the natural warmth and intense solar concentration of the growing season while retaining the estate's trademark purity and mineral energy.
• Producer: Domaine François Buffet (Marc-Olivier Buffet).
• Vinification: Hand-selected grapes are 100% sorted. Depending on vine age, select small percentages of whole clusters are utilized to enhance structural freshness.
• Maturation: Matured for up to 22 months in classic French oak barrels. The oak is carefully managed to preserve the site's distinct, soft-finishing terroir.
