Abreu, Napa Valley, Rothwell Hyde 2010
Description
94 points Wine Advocate
The sumptuous 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a deep purple color along with notes of incense, white chocolate, mocha, blackberries, blackcurrants, forest floor and barrique smells in the background. This dense, full-bodied 2010 is the richest, most complex of these offerings from Rothwell Hyde. (RP) (10/2014)
94 points Vinous
Perhaps the greatest compliment I can pay the 2010 Rothwell Hyde, Abreu's rarely seen second wine, is that Brad Grimes served it last in our tasting and it more than held it's own. Sure, there is plenty of vintage 2010 pedigree, along with the typical Abreu textural richness, but it is the wine's overall balance that leaves the most lasting impression. Rothwell Hyde is made from a selection of the wines that don't go into the four main labels and is sold mostly through the mailing list and in a few select restaurants. If you see the 2010, grab it.
