Alban Vineyards, Edna Valley, Lorraine Syrah 2014
Description
98 points Jeb Dunnuck
The 2014 Lorraine offers more black fruits than normal, with plenty of Reva-like iodine, sagebrush, melted licorice, and smoked earth notes as well as more black olive and cassis with time in the glass. It has the classic silk and elegance on the palate, however, and offers a full-bodied, layered, voluptuous texture, ultra-fine tannins, and a blockbuster finish. As always, it’s the most seamless and elegant in the lineup. Drink it any time over the coming 20 years or more. (11/2018)
