Nose has fern, mint, black cherry and earth aromas. Juicy black plum is on center stage, with the taut, red Coonawarra fruit in the background. Just the right size—bold, but not overpowering. An excellent Cab, though in short supply in the U.S." 90 points Wine Spectator: "Smooth, round and generous, this supple style layers its black cherry, currant and vaguely minty flavors in a well-modulated chorus. The finish has finesse. Drink now through 2010. 30 cases imported. (Web only, 2005)

Tasted blind, theme was either Napa Cult Wines or High End Australian, not told directly to keep us on our toes.

Deep to medium garnet red with brick edges. Dark attack on the nose with leather, bark, spices, a touch burnt and dates. As it aired out it gained some additional complexities with forest floor and more pepper. Solid acidity and well balanced with medium tannins (6/10). Quite a bit of red cherries on the palate with some earthy notes and a touch of cinnamon. A touch tart in the rear of the palate with some light tomato notes, mushrooms and gravel. Medium bodied with a long finish. Drink till 2019.

We thought this was most likely a Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet Sauvignon led blend with some Shiraz from Australia. Additionally it has to be between 15 and 20 years old (so between a 2002 and 1997). Not bad for the first wine. (6/10/2017; MILLENNIAL DRINKERS Note)
