Always a pleasant surprise - you know you are opening a big Aussie shiraz and are fearful that it will be a fruit bomb and a bit gloopy - but not a bit of it. It is certainly a generous wine but only slightly more than mid weight, this is not a monster. It is also intense and deep. Balance is provided by a robust structure. There are sweet fruitcake and mulled spices, along with pleasing leather notes. Very long and loads of complexity here. Drink now but will last a good while longer. 8/29/2022
