Winemaker Notes
Our best zinfandel vintage ever! A succinct bloom period aided in the biggest challenge of growing zinfandel: even ripening. Then, the unusually cool summer allowed the fruit to ripen morphologically before the heat of the classic Indian summer spiked the sugars to optimum levels.
"At harvest, the vines yielded just 2.5 tons per acre of evenly ripened, concentrated fruit. This wine's succulent, briary/brambly, and spicy white pepper qualities reflect a sense of place and distinguish this thoroughbred from our stable of Zins. Black currant fruit tones and spicy, dark berry notes profile this firmly structured, deep wine."
