In a word, terrific. Delicious Fruit and savory aspects are in balance. What immediately shines, is the Tablas Creek terroir (for this blend) of fir forest, bay, meatiness, and Himalayan salt with countering oodles of dark chocolate, dried cherries, blackberries, and dark licorice with hints of sweet leather.
One element missing from a sensational Chateauneuf-du-Pape: incense and the suggestion of soaring into the sublime. In other words, old vine Grenache. Lingering tannins provide contemplative pleasure. What unexpected joy when the wine doesn't disappear when swallowed. 9/14/2025

Popped 2 hours prior to drinking. Drinking nicely now, and paired wonderfully with beef short ribs braised in red wine. Not mad at all I have several more in the cellar. Still on the young side of the drinking window, my guess is these will be really good for the next decade. 4/5/2025
