Deep dark garnet in color; almost opaque. Fragrant, attractive & youthful aromas of ripe dark fruits of cherries, blackberries & plummy with toasty oak overtones, briary, pepper, spices, dried herbs, licorice, leather, minerals, some aged tobacco and vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of balanced, still developing & youthful, jammy, rich, ripe dark fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries and blueberries with toasty oak, pepper, spices, herbs, minerals, some cocoa and vanilla. Long lingering finish with a slight touch of heat. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and airing but has the fruit and structure to continue development with several additional more years of aging. 6/16/2014
