説明
95 points Burghound
A remarkably complex nose offers up a panoply of black fruits, earth, spice, crushed herbs and notes of red and black cherries. The understated, powerful, nicely concentrated and sleek middle weight flavors are quite rich yet finely detailed before culminating in a stupendously long and still moderately firm finish that offers intense minerality. This possesses superb elegance and stunning transparency - moreover, it possesses that rare extra dimension that I call the "wow" factor! Note that while this is still on the way up, it can be approached now with pleasure and once it arrives at its peak in 5 to 8 years, it should be capable of holding there for at least another decade.(10/2019)

The 2001 Mugnier Musigny is quite closed today, but with all of its constituent components readily available for inspection and its ultimate quality quite easy to discern. The nose is deep and very beautiful in its purity and nascent complexity, as it wafts from the glass in scents of red plums, black cherries, a touch of blood orange, coffee, lovely soil tones, fresh herbs and just a hint of oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite sappy at the core, with ripe, well-integrated tannins, impeccable balance and focus, bright acids and outstanding grip on the very long finish. This is already a beautiful glass of wine, even in its youthful state, but it is really a waste of bottles to be opening it now, as there are so many more layers to pile on here as the wine evolves with further bottle age. 95+ (9/2009)

Full medium red. Compellingly fresh, complex nose combines wild raspberry, minerals, smoked meat and mint. Wonderfully fine-grained and sappy, with its red berry, coffee and leather flavors conveying a distinctly youthful character. Boasts a terric spine of firm, integrated acidity and suave tannins and builds slowly and steadily on the rising finish. Great class here. Frédéric Mugnier recalled that he was quite happy with the quality of the 2001 tannins at the beginning and that he loves this vintage. 'The wines were always very pretty but now they show more structure,' he told me. He added that he would still wait longer to drink this wine 'for more complexity and polish.' (ST)(4/2017)
From the Domaine:
Our parcel of de 1.14 ha (2.8 acres) is entirely situated within the part known as « Grand-Musigny ».
All of the vines were planted between 1947 and 1962, with the exception of only a small area (15%) replanted in 1997. The grapes from this part are declassified and are included in the Chambolle-Musigny « village » appellation. Therefore the only wine that we produce under Le Musigny appellation is from old vines.
Annual production varies between 2000 and 5000 bottles.
The composition of the soil varies in as one climbs the slope. Lower down the slope it is similar in structure to “Les Amoureuses” vineyard, although the underlying rock is more fissured. This allows the vine roots to explore deeper while enabling faster drainage .The upper part of the slope is primarily composed of a marl soil, lightened by large masses of friable oolitic limestone, this ensures good moisture reserves. The overall result is a drought-resistant vineyard that can also shrug off the September rain, the grapes are guaranteed to be completely mature every year and without irregularities.
