This is such a head turner for the very reasonable $36 I paid for it. PnP and slow ox an hour prior to dinner. Semi translucent ruby red color. Roses, berries and underbrush on the nose. A range of vineyard fresh red berries, mineral, tar, underbrush and spice on a complex and nuanced palate. This sparkles with energy and freshness. High-toned with weightless elegance. 13.5% alc Mostly aged in large Slovenian wood. Natural yeast with emphasis on farming over cellar technology. Paid $36, drinks more like $75+. Last of 3 btls. I'd mostly given up on Alto Piedmont wine. Most have been uninspiring and more expensive then you would think for being outside of Barolo or Barbaresco. This wine turned out to be a head turner for a very reasonable $36. PnP and slow ox an hour prior to dinner. Semi translucent ruby red color. Vibrant fresh berries and underbrush on the nose. Vineyard fresh red fruit, mineral, tar, underbrush and spice. Exceedingly fresh and energetic. High-toned, elegant and weightless this gives many a $50+ Barbaresco Cru a serious run for their money. Paid $36, drinks more like $75 plus. 13.5% Alc. Mostly aged in large Slovenian wood. Natural yeast with emphasis on farming over cellar technology. Terrific! 93pts+ 11/27/2018
