The fill and capsule were absolutely flawless, and the cork came out in one piece with ease, without any long streaks.Whoever stored this did an immaculate job. I pulled the cork at 2pm and let it Audouze for an evening dinner.The bottle was perfectly sound. Not a hint of TCA or oxidation. Thorough bricking but still a bit of ruby peeking through. On the nose you find tobacco and a hefty dose of green bell pepper. It’s a bit lacking in fruit substance but good acidity. No overt raisin notes, more faded red fruits. Really true to the vintage (lean with high acidity) and performed above expectations for a 40 year old wine. Paired just lovely with steak au poivre. (5/2020)
