Boasso Barolo Zoom tasting. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Long legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of lovely fresh red spice, red pomegranate, spiced red cherries, perfumed red plums, tinge of dusty stones minerality. Youthful.On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (15% not intrusive at all), firm grippy high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of mint, lovely sweet red spices, bit of licorice, spiced red cherries, red plum, stony minerality kicking in towards the long finish with firm tannic grip. Very good quality. Structured power with control. Will age well. Excellent Lazzarito. 5/23/2024

Bright pale red. More floral and nicely perfumed than Boasso’s other 2020 Barolos, this offers nicely spicy red cherry and forest floor aromas and flavours. Very long, it hints at earthy and dusty herb notes on the aftertaste. Drinking window: 2028-2034. (Nov 2024)

Tense and racy, this concentrated Barolo offers notes of dried strawberries, kirsch, ground spices and dried tangerine peel. Full-bodied, firm and compact with a sandy texture to the tannins and succulent fruit in the middle. It’s very attractive, but the tannins need a bit of time to integrate. Deep and lingering.
