Golden-amber, stellar color for its age; high intensity aromatics, orange blossom, honeyed; intense palate with medium-high acidity, youthful sweetness, orange blossom and a bit of marmalade, pure citrus essence, exceptional balance; clean and long finish, orange citrus. Stellar Sauternes, and a wonderful Yquem. 96
On retaste, not the most complex Yquem, but it has impeccable balance and overall a very nice sauternes. Above the 1986 for me, but just below the complexity of the '88-'90 trio. 95-96
Day 2: Wonderful vibrancy, just as complex as yesterday if not more so. Just a perfect blend of richness and vibrancy, and the surprise every time I take a sip puts this in a truly exceptional category. 6/8/2026
