The 2014 Barbera d'Alba Francia is a surprisingly rich, powerful wine, especially for the year. An exotic mélange of dark cherry, plum, lavender, sage, cloves and graphite builds in the glass. There is a level of demi-glace-like textural richness that is impossible to miss. Intense and virile, the 2014 will drink beautifully for a number of years.

Excellent wine with great weight and density of cranberry fruit, plush for an italian wine. This was served blind and I managed to get Barbera, but missed the vintage as this was pretty rich. Really good showing 6/21/2024

Quite aromatic nose with red cherries, pine cones, and herbs. Pretty high acidity with more cherries, red berries, forest notes, and a bit of blood orange. Good finish. Nice wine with a good amount of intensity and still bright flavors. Should continue to age nicely for another decade or so. 5/10/2024
