The 2021 Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard Savigny-lès-Beaune is a savory and classic expressions of village Burgundy from the Côte de Beaune. In a challenging, cooler 2021 vintage that favored fresh acidity and bright aromatics, this bottling stands out as an early-accessible, pure expression of Pinot Noir.
• Aroma: A highly aromatic, classic nose showing fresh red cherry, wild strawberry, and brambly blackberry fruit. This is complexed by delicate savory layers of forest floor, black pepper, and a subtle touch of smoky oak spice.
• Palate: Medium-bodied and chiseled. The red fruit core hits the palate with vibrant, fresh acidity and finely integrated, fine-grained tannins that provide an appealing texture and immediate charm.
• Finish: Crisp, animating, and balanced, resolving into a dry, lingering finish framed by sweet spices and chalky minerality.
