92+ Points Vinous:

Light yellow. Subtle aromas of fresh yellow apple and pineapple are laced with wild herbs. Juicy and fine-grained with piquant acidity framing the lemon and mineral flavors. In spite of its enormous depth this chenin blanc literally dances across the palate. Pure crisp and very long on the finish I prefer this to the richer 2011. Only bottled earlier this year this Saumur will be released sometime in late 2015. If it develops like the 2010 it has the potential to be one of the great white wines of the vintage. Joel B. 92+ Points By John Gilman

The 2012 Brézé from Clos Rougeard is a still a very young wine but it has lovely promise and should start drinking quite nicely in another eight to ten years. The youthful bouquet offers up a fine mix of apple quince chalky soil tones lanolin beeswax and still a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep full-bodied long and primary with a good core fine focus and grip and a long nascently complex and very nicely balanced finish. Good juice in the making- just add time in the cellar. (Drink between 2025-2060) Sep/Oct 2017 Issue #71
