Pop and pour at El Ideas. Would have guessed this was at least 10 years younger based on color and nose. Drinking beautifully but nowhere near the end of its life. 3/16/2024

Mirrors precisely the cask sample. Classic young Clos de Vougeot character with its austerity, subtle earth notes and reserved personality. Large scaled, even as big as the Corton and quite focused in its delivery. Classy, stylish and very long. Really quite impressive....It is the creation of one of the largest, and wealthiest, companies in all of Burgundy, that of Jean-Claude Boisset. M. Boisset wanted to create a Domaine that would compete with the best in Burgundy so he decided to combine four of his well endowed but largely under performing domaines, each with varying ownership in some prime vineyards, to create one large domaine with incredible holdings. This was clearly achieved as Domaine Vougeraie boasts 33 hectares in 29 different appellations up and down the Côte including fully six grands crus (5 red and 1 white in Corton-Charlemagne) as well as two monopoles in Vougeot, the Clos Blanc de Vougeot and Le Prieuré.
