Outstanding Value Chablis Premier Cru

93 points John Gilman

The 2012 Les Lys had been bottled in the end of September and was really singing in November. This is produced from fifty to sixty year-old vines, with one section planted on a very, very stony portion of the vineyard, and the resulting wine in 2012 shows great mineral cut and reserve for the vintage. The excellent bouquet is a blend of green apple, pink grapefruit, a complex base of chalky minerality, spring flowers and a vibrant topnote of citrus zest. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and again very pure on the attack, with a rock solid core, excellent backend mineral drive, great cut and balance and a very long, youthfully snappy and well-balanced finish. This will need a bit of bottle age, but it is going to be a terrific bottle. 93+ (11/2013)

92 points Vinous

The 2012 Chablis Les Lys has really come together over the last year. One of the more subtle wines in the range, the 2012 graces the palate with expressive floral and citrus notes. The Lys is an attractive, mid-weight wine with little less overtness than some of the other 1er Crus, but it is nevertheless very pretty. (AG) (08/2014)

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound

An elegant if cool, restrained and airy nose reveals floral notes redolent of mineral reduction and quinine. The medium-bodied flavors though display excellent concentration with plenty of mouth coating dry extract that buffers the firm acid spine on the mineral-driven, lemony and explosive finish. This distinctly saline effort should amply reward 5 to 7 years of cellaring - worth considering if you enjoy Chablis with finesse. *Oustanding* (10/2014)
