Subsequent notes on this wine from three years ago. Deep, dark garnet in color, almost opaque with slight clearing at the edges. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of well-developed ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, cassis & black plums with overtones of earthy/dusty, herbal notes, graphite, cedar & tobacco, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, matured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blueberries & pomegranate with herbs, minerals, spices & a hint of oak in the background. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing (90 minutes). At 20 years of age, it appears it has limited potential for further improvement as it may be close to or at its peak of development. However, it should continue hold well if cellared properly. Cork was clean & intact with no staining on the sides; ullage was nominal with the fill at the mid-point of the neck. 10/13/2021
