Started drinking 50 minutes after decanting. Leather and animal notes, quite ripe and reasonably sweet on the palate. The nose opened up to be pretty fragrant, with pine needle and woodsy notes. Smooth and a little rounded on the palate. 2/10/2022

Showing pure raspberry liquor and kirsch on the nose, the 2003 Château Fortia Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée du Baron is ripe, heady stuff. Medium to full bodied on the palate, this bottle was slightly softer than previous ones but still had good density, nice balance and plenty of fine grained tannins on the finish. 07/2008
