A blend of 75% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, and the rest Cinsault, the 2003 Gigondas possesses considerable austere tannin, but also loads of muscle, power, and deep, earthy, black cherry and berry fruit. While slightly tough-textured, it will age well. This is a vin de garde style that requires 4-5 years of cellaring, and should last 12-14 years. (12/04)
