The Pajana vineyard takes its name from the old road that runs along the top of the hill, an ancient pass that connected Monforte d’Alba and Serralunga. Vines were planted at 1971-‘91, wine is aged for 18 months in FR oak and 24 months in Slavonian oak, 60% new. Medium+ intensity aroma of kirsch, tar, tobacco, dried roses, leather, graphite, coffee hints. Medium body, chewy & earthy, powerful and slightly astringent structure, flavours of tar, cherries, roses, high acidity, fine but firm and persistent tannins. 12/1/2023
