The 2014 Clos de la Maréchale is also superb, as again, the very elegant profile of the vintage works perfectly with this terroir. The outstanding nose jumps from the glass in a very pure blend of red and black cherries, pomegranate, cocoa, a superb base of soil, violets and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure, and full-bodied, with excellent transparency, suave tannins, a sappy core and excellent length and grip on the tangy and youthful finish. 93+ (12/2015)

Bright medium red. Dark cherry, raspberry and flowers on the nose, plus a whiff of earth. Much tighter in the mouth than the Chambolle villages but already wonderfully suave and perfumed, showing a dusty, tactile quality and a lovely balance of sweet and saline elements. The dark raspberry and menthol flavors carry impressively on the perfumed, minerally back end. (ST) (3/2017)

A perfumed and once again cool and airy nose displays notes of red currant, cherry and warm earth. There is excellent intensity to the energetic middle weight flavors that possess good precision on the firm and dusty but not really rustic finish that delivers excellent persistence. This balanced effort is a bit more structured than it typically is and will definitely require a few years before it will be approachable. *Outstanding* (1/2017)
