Mays Canyon Vineyard is located in the Russian River Valley and was re-planted in 1999. This site is unique because it is surrounded by the Russian River on 3 sides and sits at 200-400 feet in elevation on Hugo gravelly loam with some fine-grained sandstone and shale. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically and the grapes are certified organic. The grapes are whole-cluster pressed and aged in about 20% new french oak for 12 months. Littorai believes in minimal manipulation of their wines. Thus, almost all of the wines are bottles unfined and unfiltered.

Inviting aromas of grapefruit rind, dried orange peel and sage. Medium-bodied with pleasant mineral character coloring the warm citrus, eucalyptus and jasmine on the palate. Even-keeled with good tension. 11/2021

A weekend in Sonoma, Act I-Littorai, Copain, Red Car (Sonoma County, California, USA): Nose: The nose is fragrant and balanced, filled with pears, red apples, custard, vanilla beans, nectarines, meyer lemons, navel oranges, and some acacia flowers. There is excellent depth with a pleasing, upfront take.Taste: The feel is Medium/full bodied with crisp, medium+ acidity. The feel is balanced with a fatness to it backed up by tones of pears, red apples, vanilla beans, nectarines, meyer lemons, and acacia flowers.Overall: This shows a more forward quality but there is excellent tension from the acidity. There is a fatness to this that is really enjoyable while being backed up with good depth and balance. 10/30/2020
