Hirsch Vineyard lies 12 miles northwest of Jenner, the seaside town where the mouth of the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean. It is comprised of a series of ridge tops ranging in elevation from 1,200 to 1,550 feet. This is San Andreas Fault territory, resulting in varied and complex soils. Located only 3 miles from the ocean, the climate can be erratic and unpredictable, with wide annual swings in moisture, temperature, storms and wind. Rainfall is abundant between October and April, with the summer dry and desert-like. Littorai is the longest continuous purchaser of Hirsh Vineyard fruit, starting in 1994. This vineyard is farmed using organic materials and biodynamic methods, not certified.

96 Points James Suckling
Appealing aromas of ripe red and black fruit, dried flowers and black peppercorns. Medium-bodied with fine, taught tannins. Rather fresh acidity with juicy red cherries and plums. Thyme and paprika spice add complexity. Succulent and supple. Drink or hold. 11/2021
94 Points Vinous
The 2018 Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard is creamy, ample and so inviting. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, licorice, lavender and spice all meld together in a Pinot of tremendous depth, richness and texture. The 2018 is classic Hirsch. I can't wait to taste this from bottle. (AG) 01/2020
