Dunn, Napa Valley, Howell Mountain Petit Sirah 1993 [RARE]
Description
Into neck; broken wax capsules
A rare bottling from Dunn Vineyards, this Petite Sirah is grown on the estate's 40-acre Park Muscatine vineyard which was purchased in 1991. The vines were planted in the 1950s, and the grapes were actually sold to Ridge vineyards in the 1980s, before the vineyard was acquired by Dunn. After producing this bottling for several years in the early 1990s, the Dunns sold the grapes Stag's Leap for a period of time. The Dunns now bottle these same Petite Sirah grapes under their own Retro Cellars label.
Last opened in 2017 with similar notes and score. Rich, deep berry fruits in the nose and flavor, blackberries, currants, and spice, nice complexity, and a long finish. This is a great Petite Sirah for drinking now and I'm guessing another two to five years. 9/1/2021
